OK... on Sunday for the very first time, I changed the oil and filter on my bike MYSELF! (Can you tell I'm proud of myself?) I had an oil change done at a local Honda shop in March, and every time I've checked the oil it's been exactly at the full-marker in the glass. I have the Clymer manual, and it says that with a new filter, one should add 2.4 litres of oil. The owner's manual says the same thing. So I filled the bike with two litres of oil, ran it for a few minutes, checked the glass and it was a notch below the full line. So I added another .3 litres. I just went for a ride and checked the level when I got home, and it is quite a bit ABOVE the full line. There is still empty space at the top of the glass circle, but not much.

What should I do?? No oil has come out, but could I be damaging my engine?

Please HELP!
